issue with 66 code with a 2015 Gem

Field mosfets are P80NF12 oem Digikey pn. 497-6743-5-ND
Non isolated case requires insulated pads.
In my notes I have 40CTQ150 as an isolated tab replacement. Check out specs and use at your own risk. I prefer isolated tab mosfets, Not as messy, but still need heat conductive grease.
From memory:
Ohmmeter, lowest scale, pin 2 to pin 3. Pin 1 is gate. A shorted device will read near zero ohms both directions.
2 or 3 are in parallel. One set “half bridge” iirc for each direction. Either swap them all or clip leads to isolate shorted component.
I may be wrong and it may be a full bridge with two sets for each direction. No matter, clip leads on shorted parts until short is clear. With luck, first try.
Notes are for T4. Let us know if T5 uses different part,
These are the mosfets near the field connection. Not the two long rows for armature current.

Does anyone have a picture of the Field mosfets in the T5? I just order 10 of the 40CTQ150. I will have extras so if any one needs one i’ll be happy to mail; it to you free of charge. As far as soldiers what do you recommend (tin/lead rosin core 60/40 or? (I have a draw full of assorted solders;) Anything else I might need for my OPERATION? Thanks again for all the help, Shawn
The issue;
It will go forward until you let off the accelerator then goes 66 code. You have to apply parking brake, turn key off, wait a min then turn the key on with no 66 on the dash. You have one shot at forward until you let off for the 66 code to appear.
That is not typical of shorted fet. Jumped ahead without testing.
Shorted fet will only affect one direction. Is reverse ok? If you can’t drive in reverse long enough, reverse the field connections. The reverse fets will then run car forward. If the reverse fets are ok, then it still may be bad forward fets. Not shorted though, so you may need to shotgun it and replace them all.
Interesting that the car drives until you let off the pedal. It might be that the controller is switching to the opposite directional FETs when it shifts into regen/plug braking?
Try this → Does this car go into REV and move? (or throw a code)
What motor is in this car?
Have you checked the field coils for proper resistance/shorts to ground?
Do you have another motor you can put in for test?
From the T4 tech doc: (I do not have one for the T5)
-66 The field current exceeds the current limit of the field transistor.
Keyword “exceeds”.
Have you been doing any custom programming in this controller? Perhaps something is turned up way too high?
