I have not checked the pedal harness yet with a meter i did unhook it and cleaned with contact cleaner. I will check with meter tonight.
Also will check female harness on controler.
Batteries
I used a ford battery tester to test my batteries, my tech told me that deep cycle typically dont have a CCA so i lowered it to the lowest setting. These are the bateries i have. Im going to buy a load tester today and retest. These are the batteries i have
To be clear bc im a novice with a volt meter i set it to dc and put the negative lead on K and the positive lead on D to test the 5v?
Thank you for your help and patience, sorry it took so long to get back , i have 2 boys in football at 2 diff schools and their practice schedule its late.
I just confirmed with DEKA that the batteries have a 450 CCA. so judging by the readouts the batteries should be good but i will retest them this evening with the correct cca setting.
Don’t get distracted with battery issues at this time. This is not the cause of your 08 error. I would rather get the car rolling and circle back to your batteries.
Sounds good i will test the harness this evening and report back. if i do get 5v and the wings on the female plugs are good. what would be the next step? bc i will have a lot more time this evening to get in the garage so id like to do as much testing as possible while i can.
Hmmm… I agree p9 looks odd. I don’t think it is a problem because that should be pin D on the the pedal end. Since it is producing 4.76v (Ref K) then I’d say it is ok and connected.
If you hook it all together as it is now do you still get the error?
I think it might be about time to send you a replacement pedal.
Was thinking the same RFF will rebuild for $450. Ill prob tear it down tom an hopefully overnight it friday! Thank you for all of your help, if you have any recommendations for settings in sentry programmer for 7.5 hp rff motor with their upgraded wheels i do know how to modify settings on controller. Thank u for all of your help!
Sounds good, 2 things … how much? and i dont have paypal or venmo. which is why i was going to go through them bc i can do it on their website and i got my motor rims and tires from them.
Was this ever resolved? I’m having this exact issue with mine. I just bought a 2011 Gem E4 put new batteries in and it’s giving me the 08 when I turn it on, and then the 11 when I press the gas pedal.
What have you tried? This thread has several suggestions.
What is the background on this car?
Was this car working when you bought it?
Do you have the upper/lower dash panels removed?
Do you have a meter and able to do some tests?
Good evening, Thanks for the welcome! First I’ll fill you in on where I’m at. I bought a 2011 Gem E4 on Monday last week $500, and I new it wasn’t running. It sat for at least two years. It was left on property by the owner who bought a new one. I was told it was brought in to have the batteries replaced. I spent most of the week just wiping all the green build up off of it. Looks really good now. I pulled out one of the batteries and tried to put a charge on it. (Completely Dead). I replaced all the batteries today and cleaned up all the cabling. Next with the parking break on I put the key in and turned it forward. The ignition is a little touch, if I turn all the way forward the screen blacks out. There is a sweet spot right in the middle where the dash comes on. I get the 08 error right away. If I press the pedal it changes to the 11 error. The battery meter was showing a red line, so I reset the ROC to match the fresh batteries and now the meter is working properly. Still seeing the 08 error. The last I saw on this thread was a new pedal assembly was being shipped out, but there was no update as to whether that fixed the issue. Thanks in advance for your time…
The 08 at KeyON means the controller is seeing too much voltage on Pin7 at controller.
Try removing the 23pin Main Harness plug on top of the controller and giving it a hit of contact cleaner and a blast of compressed air.
Wiggle/skritch the plug when reinstalling it back on firmly until it clicks and try again.
It also sounds like your key switch could use some contact cleaner too. Otherwise, plan on replacing it or jump the wires (install on/off switch for now).
I removed the 23pin main harness. I think this was the first time it was ever removed. It looks clean all contacts are still silver no discoloration or moisture. I blew it out with a can of air and reconnected. Still getting the same error. I’ll likely get the POT BOX from INWO and go from there. Appreciate all the help.
I just pulled off the pedal assembly. Looks like water may have gotten into the Pot Box as the outer casing was opened slightly and with very little effort, I was able to remove it. Here is what it looks like on the inside. Looks like I just need to remove a couple rivets to separate the pedal from the pot box. Should be easy enough to reassemble.
