The United Parcel Service (UPS) has today confirmed the roll-out of a 100 strong fleet of electric vehicles which will be used to deliver goods across California. California has become one of the more environmentally friendly states of the US and the introduction of tight legislation is set to increase penalties for harmful emissions into the environment and also reward those who take on environmentally friendly options.
The vehicles themselves are said to have a range of anywhere up to 75 miles per charge and are expected to save around 126,000 gallons of fuel per year. When you bear in mind the amount of harmful emissions pumped into the environment by traditional fuel vehicles this will be a significant saving.
