Does anyone know how to get dirt that accumulates between the clear plastic and body of an old GEM Car. I don’t understand when I wash it, the dirt between the clear plastic turns to mud and I can’t seem to get rid of it. It’s strange that there is a clear plastic over the fenders and hood in the first place. I just bought this 2001 so trying to figure out all the oddities.
Sounds like the clearcoat has failed. Seems to be pretty common on the older ones. Kind of a PITA to fix, basically have to remove all of the old clear coat, sand and then repaint the entire piece.
Yes your clear is Done. Now comes the fun part striping it off.
Wow. I didn’t know clear coat can be so thick it looks like a 1/16 or 1/8" clear plexy like surface.
On a car it wouldn’t be, but the painted fiberglass GEM body parts have more in common with a boat than they do a car, so 1/16" thick clear coat is nothing unusual.
Recently I also doing the same thing in my car. By taking their help ----- car wash dubai
