Toyota is decreasing its exposure in the EV market and is focusing more on its successful hybrid vehicles. Did oil win again?

In this [news article](http://www.gizmag.com/toyota-reduces-availability-of-scion-iq-ev-ramps-up-hybrid-production/24324/), Toyota seems to be focusing more on its hybrid models and lowering its exposure in EV production.

Is this the death knell for the EV all over again?
