# Should we abolish all fuel tax and let EVs and gasoline vehicles fight it out?

There are so many subsidies and payments to both the electric vehicle market and the gasoline vehicle sector that it is difficult to know which is costing us more at the moment. Is it time to abolish all fuel tax and let electric vehicles and their gasoline counterparts fight it out on a level playing field?

No but it is time to tax the electricity that EV’s use at a petrol equivalent.

The only fair way is a tax on miles driven but there is no practical way of monitoring this.

in Colorado EVs and in my case NEVs pay an extra $50 on our license registration because we are electric
