# Key doesn't work for this handle... what should I do?

Hi all

New Gem owner (2002, 4 seat E825). The keys I have don’t work on this handle. What is it for? What’s the best way to get it open/replaced/rekeyed?

Take the backseat out, the lock secures the trunk (or golf club rack) to the cart. I had same problem so I removed the two screws below the handle, and then lock, and had a locksmith cut a new key.

thanks - now the dumb question, how is the back of the backseat attached?

Remove tail light lenses. Two screws behind them. Pull out bench seat, two screws at the bottom.
