# Hub or etek motor for gas scooter conversion?

Hi, below is the link of my 150cc gas scooter which I want to convert to electric.

Is it a VERY bad idea to buy an ETEK motor and mount it on the scooter with the existing variator to lower the rpm at higher speeds ? If I am not wrong, Vectrix uses a kind of CVT but I have seen nobody on the internet making such an individual conversion.

I do not like the hub motors on the electric scooters and I do not want a constant gear ratio.

I will buy the "EMC-R 48 Volt Motor Drive Kit " that is sold on [http://www.electricmotorsport.com/store](http://www.electricmotorsport.com/store) … etek-r.php if it is worth a try.
