I am looking for someone in the St. Louis area to advise me on the possibility of converting our 2000 Ford Focus to electric. We’re looking at a few major repairs and wonder if converting to electric might be a better idea. We really don’t want to start new car payments.

The Focus is a good candidate car for conversion. Does it have a manual transmission? Hopefully yes.
If you have the know-how, financial resources and time, I say go for it! Conversion costs will run up sometimes in excess of $10K. But that is cheaper than purchasing a new car.

I am finishing an EV right now… it’s a 96 Corsica…
but a focus would be a very nice EV Candidate…
you should go for it… but be prepared to spend some money.
