# Has Volkswagen scandal unearthed government support for diesel/gasoline?

While many governments around the world seem to wax lyrical about their support for electric vehicles, has the Volkswagen scandal casts a very different light on this subject? There are rumours that some governments around the world were aware of “rogue” emission results suggesting they are maybe not as supportive of electric cars as they would have you believe?
