That’s the best way.
I would like to hear from others kwh/mile result @ 25mph on level ground.

I used 1.5kwh in 10 miles steady easy driving 1/4 throttle Theoretical miles on my Volt X 2 pack 90ah is 50 miles. Poor driving habits may cut this in half. My normal driving stop and go hills was only 15 miles max. with 4kwh Combination of steady driving, no big hills, little plugging must near double mileage. Only picture righ…

I called Elcon/Zivan about my charger reprogramming. I acted very nice and asked if they had received it. The guy did sound very busy but he did say they would get to it in a few days. HOORAY! well, if that is true.

I really didnt have a problem with the turn around time, but they would never allow me to talk to anyone that had any technical knowledge.

I havent wired in the BMS yet, but I do plan on using a relay for the charger.

I gather i don’t want discharge shutoff relay. Wouldn’t want my motor shutoff in traffic. THIS IS WHY I AM GLAD I DASHMOUNTED THE BLUE BMS

I have a question about the charger. I too have a Zivan, has anyone had any luck converting to lithium and using the Zivan. Most use the DQ. ??? Why ??? Is it just that much easier to get lithium profiles in the DQ than any other.

Elcon/Zivan of Sacramento has been known to be a pain to deal with for getting Zivans reprogrammed. But, they seem to have improved some. With good onboard chargers costing 330 to 1100 dollars, i decided to stick w my Zivan. I am supposed to get mine back from Elcon/Zivan tomorrow. Figure 2 wks to a mo. turnaround. Also, u have to rig some sort of relay or coil to allow your BMS to turn off your Zivan. Others work out of the box w BMS. Relay costs 20 on ebay…somebody posted about using a 5 dollar coil.

Figure 110 bucks roundtrip for reprogramming…some others u just turn a dial. But, the Zivans do have enough juice to charge a big lithium pack.

You can use an ssr to control ac input to any charger. I can supply the wiring.
The dq is a simple one wire interface.
The Gem lvc can be spoofed to a good level. Then a bypass switch added to prevent getting stranded.

Sorry the lingo is common on the other forums, and I’m a lazy type.
An ssr is a solid state relay.
Lvc is low voltage cutoff.
Hvc high voltage cutoff.
MM is magic magnet. speedometer correction device.
Dq is Delta-Q charger.

Isn’t it better/easier to just use your BMS to sound a low voltage alarm instead of cutting off your juice (LVC) in the middle of traffic?

</div>

Also, I gather that the most common aftermarket HVC setup is a normally open SSR.
So, when activated by the low current from the BMS, the SSR completes a circuit instead of disconnecting? Or grounds out? Or are you reversing the polarity of the wires from the BMS to the SSR?
