Hey David, 👋 can I ask you a question my ford think ran when I put new batteries. They my brother came and see the the orange wire and the white wire where both on negative on battery 1 and he put the orange wire on the positive on battery 6 and now won’t run.

The screen on the dash works and shows battery life.

I seen a guy do that before and he fried his instrument cluster. Maybe you got lucky. I’d start by checking for codes and all the fuses.

I checked all the fuses and but new ones anyways but ya the cluster turns on. So if it fired it wouldn’t show anything on the screen?

If the screen is working it should show codes. The one I’m talking about fried a resistor. It smelled burnt and when I removed the screen from the cluster I could see the melted resistor. Checking for codes is the best place to start.

Can you please send me the wiring diagram for my ford 2001 think.
I just noticed this weekend that the new batteries are dead. Plugged it in but charger does not seem to be powering up. Not LED indicators at all.

@Keithco - What are you looking at when you say it has no LED indicators?
Are you watching the Charger Status panel itself?
You should at least have a yellow “AC present” light on that panel and at least one other light doing some sort of activity.
Have you verified that there is 120vac power all the way up to the charger itself?
- Check the outlet you are using on the wall.
- The cord you are using
- The power port on the car.
- The IEEC connector right at the charger.
You might recognize that IEEC connector. Yes, you can bypass the entire wiring in the car and substitute an old computer cord as a quick test, but most are not rated to handle the high loads of the charger for very long. The smaller thin cords will heat up if left on for extended periods. Use as a test only.
If you do have power all the way up to the charger and it is still dark, then it is possible that your charger has died. Is there any other evidence that something happened to your grid power while you were gone?
All that aside, Grab a handheld meter and check out your batteries themselves. How long has it been sitting? What is their current voltage?

Thanks for your reply… The Delta-Q charger has a gland connector, not an IEC connector. I drilled the rivets out for the male power entry connector so I could eliminate a possible bad connection. I directly connected a power cord to the jacketed cable feeding the charger, but still no indicators. 120V verified. Checked a couple of batteries with a DMM from bat + to chassis ground. High impedance read. Do you have the wiring diagram you can share?

I’ll have to double check, but I’m not sure the Think connects B- to ChassGnd. You test may not be valid.
It might be better to check BattV directly.
