A quick look at that battery says → No.

First red flag is this appears to be a 22s Lifepo4 battery.
Voltage range is 55 - 79.2v ?
This is on the low end of the bracket for a stock performance Gem which likes to run from 68 to 85.5v. You wouldn’t be able to use all of this battery since the car would refuse to start up anywhere below 68v.

Sure, it would run for a while, but performance and range would be on par with a tired, worn out, old set of lead acid batteries. If your pack still works, Put a meter on them (checkV) and take them for a ride just so you can feel what it is like at 75v (for example).

Where is the fun in that?

Would the answer be the same for a 2002 GEM? Ive been tasked with trying to help out a nonprofit camp with getting their GEM converted to lithium and this is one of the options they were exploring. Range and speed are not really a concern as it likely would need to go 2-3 miles at most per day. I have an electrical background but am new to the battery game and GEM carts so trying to learn to make the best decision. Any advice greatly appreciated!

Which battery (the one posted above?) Vatrer?
If so, The answer is the same. _ **A hard NO** _. This battery is not a good match for ANY of the 72v Gem cars.

I have a low cost option if Byron can verify a fit. Several actually.
Wiring bms is the reason EV batteries are high cost, while the bms itself is \<$200.

@AssyRequired I have 32 of these 110ah batteries from brand new test vehicle. They are easy to ship and fairly easy to wire. My goal is to blow them out as-is, rather than shipping them with the fragile balance leads attached.

So where were you when I had to buy batteries last year… ha ha…

I’m more or less retired from building purpose-built batteries. I can however advise others in how to set up my over-stock.

Inwo, thanks for the info! sorry I missed the reply earlier, I think we would be possibly interested in this solution, can you point to a charger that would work with this pack so we can calculate a final conversion cost?

In answer to the 4 x 6s 110ah modules. 88 volts
FYI, this is sale for raw batteries, Hence the low cost. I have other solutions as well.
Also, this is a high voltage battery, not well suited for 2002 Gem.
To answer your question. A programable Delta-Q is always a good choice.

This battery is a good option for 2002. Standard voltage, 74v, any 72v charger will work.
Also, price is raw battery only.
Buyer would need good skills to add bms, as shown, and mount battery in vehicle.
