Back from a 10 mile hard, stop and go run. Up and down hills.

Battery dropped from 3.9 to 3.58.

Even used mandatory duct tape.

Strange, my soc seems to work.

Down 2 bars with battery at 85.47 volts???

Have not reset it!

Dave if your keeping voltage that high 155 amps well be fast . get that 425lbs of lead out of your cart and let us know how it performs .

p.s. time to share how you got around the 86v cut off . I want to add 2 more cells to my pack and need 90v to make it work .[/quote]

Good news everyone!

My voltage fix died. Stranded up town. After stopping, would not restart.

Good news is error -15 = low voltage. 83 volts or 3.5v per cell.
That means the “voltage fix” works on both ends.

Took out my 15 volt boost and put in a 12v. On the road again.
Should now run until about 80 volts on my 24 cell pack.3.3v per cell. “perfect”

Hopefully there will be a proper boost that will allow starting on both ends. High and low.

Then it needs a bypass switch to allow limping home on low voltage.

MM update.

Lithium is so fast that a 1/2MM is dangerous to motor.

Put in a 20%MM and it’s perfect. Runs 30mph at 3/4 throttle. MM prevents motor over speed.

I’m used to speedometer error. Like going 30 reading 25mph.

Yes as does Mike.

I’ve never used programmer. Hoping one of them will volunteer to share.
To be honest, don’t know if that’s what programmer does. ie. read and write.

Could be it only switches stored algorithms.😕☹

ps.
Lot easier to pass my programmer around than the chargers.

The $100 is fair. Rather not pull my DQ.😃

Have a feeling my junk yard batteries may not be 100%.☹

And the ones I’m using may now be worse.

14 hard miles and limp home with battery levels too low.
Now I’ll find out if they can stand any abuse.

Thought I would see what was left at 3.33v per cell. Bad idea!😉

If I get lucky it’s down to 3.4 and quit going forward.
I had no idea how little power is left on the low end.

I’m sure Mike warned me, but I have to learn the hard way.🆒

your batteries are fine . the problem is u have toooo many . 24 cells filled to 50% are not as good as 22 cells filled to 90% . we did talk about this but lets face it we are the type of people who want to experiment and find the limits . Dave you inspired me to go from 20 cells to 22 . if u hadn’t pushed your limits I wouldn’t now be pushing mine . this is what this is all about . I well call u tomorrow to discuss the simple changes u need to make . who knows whats next!

</div>

My only problem was knowing when to quit.

With my 15 volt or even 12 volt limit increase, I’m protected from under voltage.

I had to jumper it to run them too low.

Now I know to quit at 3.5 or 3.4. No power left under that.

When I charge manually, I stop at 4 volts. In a few minutes cells drop to 3.8.

I believe that means they are not fully charged.
When I get my real chargers, range should increase.

Also, I believe car will run fully charged. 100 volts.

Chevy volt:

Today, test amp hour of unmolested 6 pack from 4-3.2 volts.

Will then see if a lot of capacity lies in the 4-4.2 level.

Also how much the 47 ah pack is degraded or over rated.

No battery I’ve ever tested has produced rated output. Tool packs etc.

Leaf may be the exception, as Mike reported more than full output.

41.1ah shown is counting down from 50ah.
6 pack 22v.
25 amp load bank.

</div>

if they’re like the leaf 90% of ah is between 4.1 to 3.5 . it’s pretty linear between those numbers . you’re going to need to get these to that 4.1v number to get your range . 4.2v I would guess well give you 5% more range .

p.s. Dave got your voltage drop kit today . well try and install this weekend.

</div>

I’ll soon know if capacity is anywhere near the 47ah they are rated .

First tests say no.
Used 7ah to go 5 miles.
That means I should get 25-30 miles usable range.
First test from 3.8v-3.9 (after settling from 4v charge cycle) to 2.9v was 15 miles.

Starting point=3.2 volts.

Heck, I’m happy with 15.

With me, have to do the math!
Not doing it for practical reasons. Just for the challenge.

I believe your leaf pack checked out as 60+ah. How did you measure?

Low cut out did not seem to work when I first tested. It does now. So don’t get stranded.

If you raise upper limit, lower limit will come up the same amount.
So if you put in the “15” limits are 83-101
"12 are 80-98
"5" are 73-91
Not sure which ones I sent. 😕

Very early testing. Hope it works out!
