# 2002 Gem Code -43

My 2002 Gem car shut down the other day first showing a code 51 then going to a code 43 which it now displays. Suggestions as to where I should start. Thank you.

In the forum is a complete list of GEM error codes. The code -43 indicates a low armature voltage and to inspect the motor controller. Also check the battery voltage as well. Open and then close the master switch to clear the code.

Thank D aniel. refreshed the batteries and opened and closed the master switch while I replaced them still getting the 43 code and I believe the 51 code. Whats the best avenue to proceed?
